An oldie but a goodie, I am sure.

What is the best way to remove manufacturer's stickers.

WD40? Windex? Rubbing Alcohol?

I recently took off two fairing stickers and a gas tank sticker... what a royal pain too.  I used a hair dryer to warm the adhesive and then picked at it with my fingernails.  Some areas came off in larger pieces but there was a lot of picking & pulling.  After the paper was off I used adhesive remover to get rid of the goo.  Three stickers took nearly two hours - I was trying to be extra careful on the tank.

I really don't know why they can't use some sort of static cling sticker....  I mean who do you know leaves those things on anyway!! :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

I've even still got the "Unleaded Fuel Recommended" sticker on the top of the tank! :banana:

I would have left the stickers on, had the previous owners hadn't already taken them off.

I agree with the above advice.  A blow dryer and some WD-40 should do the trick.  I'm going to be doing it in a few weeks myself.

Wow... I had no idea those stickers would stay stuck by choice.  Brings a whole new meaning to totally stock!! :stickpoke:

Peronally I'm with the others, I leave the stickers on until they start looking a bit "ordinary".  Then to remove them I use the wife's hair dryer, when she's not home, and Eucalyptus Oil.  Eucalyptus is also good for removing bug shit from the fairing and screen.

The stickers I can't live with are the warnings..... don't operate under the influence - wear a helmet and proper gear - don't store stuff on the fairing.  The kinda stuff that lawyers require.  Stickers that contain valuable information such as tire pressure, adjustment settings and other "helpful" information remain in place.

My new bike had three large, orange warning stickers that looked like crap and if you needed the information contained on them you didn't need to be riding in the first place.

Speaking of stickers, who has put the Holeshot, Arai, Shoei, Yoshimura, etc. stickers on their bikes, and where?  Pics?

I was reluctant to try to make my B6 look like a repli-racer by slapping stickers on it, but I thought about putting the H/S sticker on my swingarm.

I've got a Holeshot & a Bandit Alley sticker on the LH side of my swingarm.
Barely visible in the pic below is a Zero Gravity sticker, but it started to delam after a year or so, so it's not there anymore.

The best way to remove decals is with more heat.  Hair dryers, for obvious reasons, only put out so much heat.  Use a regular heat gun and the decals peel right off.  Don't hold the gun in one spot too long, keep it moving.  I rented a heat gun for about $10 for 24 hrs.  Took decals off the B6 and a car that had some real goofy ones.  Hey Paul, looks like you removed some house paint along with those decals!

Ah, the distressed look.  The paint on my house's trim is cracking and peeling.  I can now tell my wife we're in style with the "distressed" look!

Actually, it's not my house. I had stopped by a friend's house and he took the pix. I didn't have a digital camera back then. His wife was stripping the paint on the house getting it ready for a new color. He's the mechanic, she's the decorator/remodeler/home repair person. (Wish I had a deal like that.)

ME TOO !  and my bike washing bucket has about a dozen holeshot stickers on it, it somehow became the collector of those. No one uses that bucket except for me and the bike - its off limits for fertilizer, dirt, garden tools, plant food, greasy rags, trash, etc...
