Title: Swingarm Chain Buffer Wear after Busa Shock Install
Post by: VAbikeguy on March 13, 2006, 09:17:29 PM
Hi, this is my first post on this forum!  I've been lurking for awhile and have gleaned tons of great information.  In fact, thanks to this board, I have an upgraded suspension on my Bandit 1200.  :thanks:

I just upgraded the front and rear suspension on my bike. The front has new Progressive springs and the rear has a Hayabusa shock. I have to admit that I'm much more confident in curves now.   (Oh yeah!)

After installing the Busa shock, I had to adjust the chain. I noticed that the chain seems to wear pretty heavily on the swingarm chain buffer. When I sit on the bike, it still seems like its touching the buffer. This can't be normal.

Is it normal for the buffer to wear down?

That's what it's there for.
Better to rub on that than the swingarm.
