take a look at some of those, pictures from a tyre shop in the uk.

Wow! Cool link. There are some very dumb and very lucky people out there.
This one cracked me up:
This customer was complaining of a slipping clutch and the inability to change gear properly. He also asked whether he could get away with just a new sprocket.

I think Rob's choice is the "best" one, but this one was pretty close:
This was noticed when we recently replaced a rear tyre on an SV. The pads were completely worn through to the metal and then the pots themselves. The customer complained of hearing weird noises from the rear wheel.
Impressive !!

I could possibly understand pads getting to the point where there's metal-to-metal contact, but it would take a while to grind thru the metal and into the caliper pistons.
:duh: :duh: :duh:

Just goes to prove, there is people out there that should just not be let loose on the public road system. That sprocket is just another example of the Darwin theory, and as for the SV well what can I say. :duh:

Good stuff, deserves a sticky, and copying to the 'tires' forum

Thank Christ these nitwits aren't piloting aircraft!!!!!!! Never heard of any type of 'preflight'? .....the lack of which could be just as fatal. :duh:
-
Amazing! Some pepole must walk around (or drive around) with there head up their a$$. That sproket looks like a saw blade!

No, they never heard of a "preflight", "postflight" or "periodic inspection" either because they were never in a military service. President (general) Eisenhower was right: Military service should be universal. If it were, a lot of this sort of nit-wittery could be avoided. :trustme:

Ah... finally a good explanation of why Britannia doesn't rule the waves anymore.

Say, are you the same guy with a Yamaha triple that held forth on the ytriples website for many years? You ozzies always had my respect for holding onto the old American dream, unsullied, since we'uns let go of it.

Not so sure there's no nitwits piloting aircraft! We have an example of that in the Buffalo, NY, crash that killed 50. Pilot & Co-Pilot violated procedure that said NO NON-ESSENTIAL TALK IN THE COCKPIT! NTSB's determination on crash: "Pilot Error". Whoops!
Have you seen the Ad where a motorist pulls out in front of a bike like his car was a catcher's mitt? BAM! The 1980's Hurt Report said that about 85% of all accidents involving bikes are caused by motorists turning left in front of an approaching motorcycle ("but officer, I didn't see him"!).
My advice: Stay on the leftmost side of the your lane. It gives the driver a better chance to see you. If you see a car start to move out of a side street in front of you, flip on the brights, blow the horn (REALLY LOUD HORNS SAVE LIVES!) and try to stop. If you absolutely have to hit the car, aim straight for the center of the driver's door - it's the softest spot on the car. If you're lucky, you may be able to take out the cage driver. Just before you hit, launch yourself upward and you may go over the roof. Best option? Keep speeds down in areas with a lot of side roads and driveways. :yikes:

Need to pass a test to drive a car, but any idiot can reproduce (usually with the assistance of another idiot). Which explains a lot of the thinning of the gene pool.
