Title: UPDATED! Fork tag holders
Post by: RDUBandit on August 01, 2006, 09:06:07 PM
In the next few weeks I'm gonna paint my fork legs (eventually I'll have 'em powdercoated), and I wanna remove the stickers (inspection and parking) and I don't want to put them back on the fork legs.

So, I fashioned a set of brackets that will bolt to the threaded reflector nubs on the fork legs.

I used a piece of 2" steel tubing and pounded the bracket around it so the bracket will wrap around the fork leg.

Tomorrow I'll clean the brackets up and paint 'em black.  I'll also get two M5 x 16 mm Torx screws to attach them to the fork legs.

Sorry about the crappy pics, I'll post more when I'm finished if anyone wants.

Cheers,
  Dave

P.S. Photobucket's resizing feature doesn't work for shit!  :annoy:

Those would be handy here in NY too.  I like it.  The only ones I've seen that you can buy are the big chrome flat plates that don't look nearly as nice as this will.
Title: UPDATE - painted fork legs and sticker plates!

Here are two new pics.  I couldn't wait for powdercoating.  I decided to paint them until I have the time to disassemble the forks for powdercoating.

I like the fork legs black, but I think the rimstripes have to go.

Thanks, Man.  I used "Dupli-Color" high durability auto paint that I got at AutoZone.

The plates were easy to make!  :thanks:
