I have been indulging my mod bug here lately and decided to weigh my B12. I have a 2001N with a holeshot full system. I was surprised to see it weighed 486#. I was expecting 500. What does yours weigh?

Presume that was with fluids- was the tank full?

Half tank of gas weighed on a shipping scale at work which also serves as my dietary advisor when no one is looking. Installed my new high exhaust last night so she is going back on the scales tonight minus the center stand and rear passenger pegs (full tank this time).

I've been wanting to weigh mine,but havn't gotten around to it. Full exhaust,no center stand,and if I switch to my R1tail end (eliminates the seat) w/ cut up inner fender,it should bring the weight down abit. I think the 1st gen were a few lbs lighter to begin with. I was thinking of setting it up for a 3 hr enduro race, doing that and removing the headlight, but $ and wife are keeping me from racing this year. Dan

Curiousity........I weighed mine for reference on the exhaust change and now it has become a "mod" thing. Pushing to see where I can take a usable street bandit within reason weight wise.

Also was courious,and thinking less weight would be asking less of my tires for grip when coming around the high speed carosells at the track. (although not seeing much track time this year) Dan

Re-weighed with full tank at 480#. Current status of bike is: pair removed
pod filters (no air box)
no center stand
no rear pegs
holeshot exhaust with high pipe
rear fender eliminated
520 conversion chain and aluminum rear sprocket
n-model bike
The results as far as the ride are a pronounced wheelie tendancy and a firm ride. Dialed my preload down to set sag again and ride is still firm.

One of the teachers I work with is a custom bicycle modification expert in his spare time.

One of his best stories is about the guy who asked him to shave a pound off of his expensive race bicycle.

He told him... "It would be a LOT cheaper... and certainly more efficient... for YOU to lose a pound."

In my case, I could lose about 40 lbs... the bike's fine like it is.

I have been doing that too

. I was 185 and now I am at 165. My bad knees are doing much better because of it.

You're a light weight, I'm an embarrasing 105kg (231lb).

That too, when on the track, I like to slim down to 186. Sometimes I don't get down quite that far, but under 190lbs. (graduated in"74"@ 176lbs) Dan
