Hi all,
I've recently purchased a bandit12 and I'm looking to have a tail swap done. I've seen that a few of you have done the R1 tail swap. Is the R1 tail swap an easier tail to swap on? Why not go with a gsxr tail?
All input is appreciated.

I think it boils down to what the owner likes the looks of. I've seen the
R1, GSXR, Buell & Monster conversions done to the Bandits as well as a
few homebrewed designs. What I haven't see yet, is the late model
Tuono's tail - and IMHO, that's one of the best looking ones out there
(can't say that I care much about the rest of its styling though):

A little costlier to procure, I'm sure, but just a cool
- especially with a similar exhaust -
would be the tail from a MV Agusta F4.

A bloke here in Aust has recently done just that. A little big for my tastes but not too bad...

Well, if you like a slender look, the Buell tail will give you that.
I believe this one's from an older tube-frame M1 Cyclone:

As will a Monster's tail:

I did find a 1G with a MV tail... can't say that I like the paint job though:

Wow... thanks for the pics. Those are some damn good lookin' bandits.
I'm really liking the way the monster tail looks on this one though.

Do you guys have any pics of bandit12's with a gsxr tail or maybe even a cbr tail??

Unatec bolt-on Gixxer tail kit available at Streetfighters by Design: (http://www.streetfightersbydesign.com/streetweb/unatec_page/unatec_pg.htm)

Check out http://www.streetfighters.nl/ for all sorts of trick bikes and tail treatments.
The Bandit has a section of it's own there, too, separate from other Suzukis.

Thanks for the links...
Although, after seeing that pic, I'm not sure I like the way the gixxer tail looks on the bandit. It looks a little too big and bulky IMO. The monster tail seems to be my top candidate at the moment.
-
I agree, but keep in mind that one is not a real Gixxer tail, but a replica that's designed to be a bolt-on kit to the existing Bandit's frame. All the other ones were custom fab jobs where someone altered the seat support structure to fit something else.

Some hot looks, I have a R1 bolt on tailsection that I might paint and put my # on for the track. If I end up bending up the subframe (not that I'm planning on it) then that would be the time to fab a subframe and tail section on. I was thinking GSX-R from the scrad years. Dan

im also looking for a tail end and the monster one is my favourite so far short and stumpy :bigok:
-
looks like I have a project for next winter i love how that moster tail looks.

Missed the R1 pics, plus I had to have another excuse to show off mine.

Does anybody know what exactly has to be done to make the monster seat work on a B12??

Not being afraid to cut the rear sub-frame off and being able to make a new one (or pay someone to do it for you).
