I got out and did a 600 round mile trip over Thanksgiving weekend between California and Arizona. It seems it was the last good riding days before the cold 50's set in. The day part of the trip was in the low 70's and the night portion was in the  uncomfortable high 50's. But the trip was great and my B12 just turned 5,000 miles and runs much better then a year ago  after I installed the Ivan jet kit and Yoshimura pipe what a combination, synchronizing the carbs perfectly and adding Iridium spark plugs has made the bike perform awesomely, cruising like a purring tiger and accelerating to pass like a roaring dragon. I discovered riding in this cold weather that if you are moderately clothed warmly but not winter clad that you can eliminate allot of body heat loss by laying down on the tank with an adjustable inflatable tank bag taking the weight off my arms. I was able to ride through the cold of the desert night like that for 30 minutes at a time between straitening out for a couple minutes. I also discovered that in this position you get about 10% better fuel economy. One day someone is going to come out with a bike that can transition between race, upright to incline position with the handlebars, seat and foot pegs all making the necessary pre-programmed moves.
