Title: Aug 29th weekend Ride to Red Deer
Post by: 06 Greyhound on August 21, 2009, 12:37:05 AM
I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for the ride so that folks can find it.

I propose that we meet in Red Deer and ride off to Sylvan Lake for Lunch

Majority choice in the balance  Noon or so in Red Deer On ---  Sunday ?  I can also do Saturday if that draws more votes.

I believe that there may be another Bandit or two coming from Cagary which would be nice.
Google tim Hortons and look for the one on Hwy 11 just east of hwy 2
on 66 street

Unless folks would like to try one on Gasoline Alley

Here's what I was thinking we'd (as in r_outsider, and I, and possibly our daughter, if she's back from the lake by then) do:

Pull the trailer to St Francis ( not far from  Pigeon Lake ) on Saturday morning, or even Friday night , and park it for the weekend at the track that we ride at.

Meet for ride/lunch/whatever at noon on Saturday, and then take off back to St Francis, and ride the track on Sunday.

So, I guess that means our vote is for Saturday.

Oooh,.. my favorite tim hortons of all!!

I think it was 2 years ago, we went in there and I asked what type of fruit was in the "fruit explosion" Muffin.

The lady looks at me, totally disgusted look on her face and says, "uhm,... FRUIT!!"
Me: "Uh,.. yeah,... but what kind of fruit?"
Her: "FRUIT!"
Me: "OK,.. I'll have the raisin Bran muffin.... "

For all I knew, it was tomato and banana.... pass.   :duh:

Quick count
That is three from Edmonton with a pillion, and I can do Saturday, so that is 4 so far.

Thanks Paul
I didn't know that, and as there are only a few people riding up I was going to let it slide.  No one mentioned the bikini contest.  Or how crowded it will be.

I will see if anyone at the show and shine tonight is going and then make a decision.  (bikini contest eh)

Hi all

There are no other folks coming from Calgary so I think I will op out.
Besides I have just bought a honda passport C70 and I now have to go to Edmonton to pick it up on Saturday.

Hey Tony!  if that's the case, why not give us a call when you get here.  If we're around, we can go for coffee.

I assume you'll have a truck or something,.. you're not riding that home are you??  :stickpoke:

Things have changed again I meeting the current owner out on the Highway; location to be determined by how far we each get.   As much as I would like to ride it home I need to make it in one day.
The offer is great but it too looks like a no go.
