Title: bar vibration
Post by: Dave on April 23, 2010, 05:46:36 PM
Went for a highway ride and quickly realized my right hand was numbing from the bar vibration. After checking posts here, decided to buy some steel shot and put in in the bar. Because of the small size of the #2 shot, thought 10 lbs would be good. Before anyone says, "wow, that's a lot", let me say, "wow, that's a lot". Anyway, I've got about 9.5 lbs left if someone wants it. I'll let you know how well it worked.

It worked great. You only need a pound or two but the vibe stopped.

Glad to hear it stopped... I'm running into the vibration issue on my 01 B12 with Genmar riser/pullbacks.  I was going to try shooting pressurized RTV in both ends of the bars like a few guys at Sport-Touring.net mentioned.  I really don't want to take my bars off to poor shot in them, I've fought the controls and cables enough just to get them to mount without binding.  Not sure if the RTV would be as good as the shot ??  They also mention getting grip puppies, i have heated grips and would think that would not work too well?

Thanks
Phil
