Title: Canadian Motorcycle Hall Of Fame Inductees!
Post by: jbrough7 on April 30, 2006, 06:33:07 PM
12 people are being inducted for the first time:

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=25392

Lang Hindle (Hindle Exhaust Systems) out of Uxbridge, ON...this guy has an incredible past.  He turned pro racer in 1973 and whumped everybody in his FIRST RACE by half a lap!!  Can you imagine?

And he's still going strong designing exhausts:

His KZ1000:

The other guy that caught my eye is Trev Deeley, who brought Hondas to North America and set racing records for 15 years on Harleys in the 40's and 50's:

Way to go, Canucks!!

My only question is:  Is my name 13th on that list??  What's going on?? :crybaby:

Hey jbrough7, here's a link for you to check out http://www.vrra.ca/board/viewtopic.php?t=4224&highlight=
There's a few pictures I took at the banquet. It was a pretty impressive evening and I hope to go every year from now on.

What's the name of that Canadian guy who was a top GP rider (in the 60's, I think) who is now a "she"? Did they induct him/her yet?

That would be Mike Duff, now Michelle Duff. Michelle has published a couple of books now and if you follow this link you'll find out more info

Mike then...

and now

I found it to be a very interesting read, anyone that is into bikes and racing will like it.
Mike/Michelle did not get inducted this year, but I think it is just a matter of time before it will happen. I've met her a couple of times and she is a really nice person to talk to. She usually does the bike shows and is a feature of the Vintage TT at Mosport. She does a parade lap on on of the bike she used to ride when she was racing in Europe.

That's the one... the name escaped me. :thanks:

They had a writeup a year or two ago in one of the cycle rags on Mike/Michelle and it was an interesting read. Said she still goes out from time to time on an old, smaller, FZR and dusts local squids on literbikes on the backroads then goes back to her cabin where she generally keeps an otherwise low profile.

A he never becomes a she no matter how much they want it.

And I'd say he's made himself into one ugly m*therf*cker!  To paraphrase Gov. Arnold.

Other than that I'm sure he's just swell.

I was going to try to make a   but I just feel pity for the poor guy/girl!

Boy, how you must hate yourself to have to change your sex, eh?  Or is it you're just born always thinking you should have been the other?
