Just another Canadian checking in. Been on the board since early, early spring. We were lucky enough to get down to the B.O.S.S. 2005 ralley in VA. Thanks again to Pete and all the others who made us feel welcome, and made it fun. Hi to Wayne from Miss. How'd the beer turn out Buddy? Sorry to hear about your effed up trip home. Bet you'll ride down next time, won't you? Hit Americade in June too.   Fun, fun, fun!

We're riding out of Hamilton these days, and we're always looking for someone who wants to ride the twisties.

 :beers:

Roy (& Sherri)
Can I think about this and add something later??

Just purchased my 2005 Bandit 1200 this weekend. I don't take delivery for three days...ugggh. I'm in the burbs outside of Saint John, New Brunswick. The weather has been great the last week, and hopefully will continue through October.
I haven't owned a bike for over 20 years and although it's late in the season, I can't wait for my first ride.
Tyco did the work....Kepler got the credit.

If you haven't riden in 20 years, be careful! There's a lot of power in both the engine and the brakes for a new or rusty returning rider. We want to see you post for years.

:welcome: to the Alley!
:congrats:  on the new purchase.  :beers:

Doesn't matter how big or powerful a bike or motor is as long as you have self control. Buy big, ride safe, it's not the bike it's the rider.
I came off a moped many years ago and it hurt. I've been on bigger bikes and been fine.
My 2 cents.
If tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of my life..........does that mean all the shit I do today don't count?

:thanks: for the advice. Having had my Bandit for over a week now and some great weather as well, all I can say is wow!! I can't belive how well it handles. Difficult to keep the speed under the limit. It wants to run. You are correct....lots of power and the brakes are sensitive.
I can't believe I haven't had a bike in over 20 years. Makes me feel young again.
My wife has expressed an interest in owning her own bike. She loves the Bandit 1200 and if things go well, maybe a 650 might be a possibility in the spring. She drove my Honda 750 FourK back in the late 70's and has always liked being on a bike.

Hi Silverstreak. Thanks for the welcome.
I ride out of Rothesay, New Brunswick. Small community outside of the port city of Saint John. I have been a teacher in the area for many years and work as a part-time university instructor.
I purchased my Bandit 1200 so that I'll be able to enjoy my deferred salary leave in the spring. I will be on vacation from the end of January until the fall of 2006!
We have some great scenery here in the maritimes. Most of my travel will be from the Gaspe in Northern NB through Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. We are very central here and the riding should be great.

Hi Guys
Living in Cranbrook, in the BC Rocky Mnt Trench. SE of Calgary, just North of Idaho & Montana.

Bought a 2002-600S in Jan 03. I've put about 21,000 kms on in 3 years. Toured BC Oganagan, Oregon & Washington state this past summer. Hope to make a trip to Colorado summer 2006.

Love the little Bandit...upgrading fork spings, brake lines, Windscreen this winter. Have already installed Kappa hard bags. For a "budget" bike, this is a great little ride, far betted than anything I rode back in my earlier days. (CB750's, Mach III 500's, KZ650's)

Drop me a line if anyone is headed through the souther BC Rockies!!

Reminds me of my first trip to St. Johns New Foundland. I was up there looking for a site for our ships to use as a storm avoidance site. I get up in the morning and am listening to the morning news. They have the news followed by the weather and sports then the traffic report now all of this is quite normal. But then they have the “MOOSE REPORT”. This is a detailed list of streets to avoid because of moose traffic. I cracked up laughing. Is this a big think in Canada ?!?!?!?!?!

Be sure to read the threads on the board about jetting before you order a Dynojet kit.

Hey - just joined and am really happy there are people out there living north of the 49th and riding bandits!  Are they the best bikes or what?  I just love mine...I was leery of all the power of the 650 cuz I came from an old cruiser with 30 hp. but it seems to be just fine!

I'm a BABE and there's a lot of us out there by the sounds of it - Born Again Biker Enthusiast!

Take care, all.

Jim

Hey Jim, aren't you in the Greater Toronto area?
That's south of the 49th...  :bandit: :toocool: :stickpoke:

You may even live south of me... but it's warmer over here in WA.  :monkeymoon:
