Another representative of the great white north here, 25 and not a man, but the Bandit still wins out.
I keep looking at it...hoping the weather would warm up. The bike, 1200 k5, is from QC so somebody there rode it (a lot judging by the mileage) it's been stock...up till now. I should be naked, with a slip on/jet kit by summer.
Glad to see others are watching the snow as hopefully as I am.

Now that's something I just can't wait to see!!!
But leathers would be a safer riding option!
If tomorrow really is the first day of the rest of my life..........does that mean all the shit I do today don't count?

Well it is april and I have ridden more in January!!! Looks like the end is near though folks, sun is on the horizon. Get your maintenance done for another stellar riding season. I think this year will be tops for people who don't like extreme hot conditions.

If you find somewhere warm, let me know!!
What's it like out in Edmonton?
It's about 2 degrees celcius right now here in Kitchener. Really freakin' windy though.

Hey DaveG.
They're saying around 8 - 10 degrees on Friday. It'll be cooler in Dover though. I'd say around 5 degrees. Sucks.

Yeah,.. I've got about 4 places in mind.  One isn't necessarily warmer, but it's green.  The other 3 are cheap living, and warmer.

Supposedly it's 7C today.  I don't believe it, based on the feel of the house, and the lack of sun.  But of course, there's #@%$#%@ snow in the forecast for Tomorrow and thursday.

And you're right,.. the wind has been obscene!! It's currently "only" 20kph, but I've seen it at triple that recently.

Hi fellow Canadians,

I am located in Toronto and just started riding and my 05 Suzuki Bandit 650 is my first bike.  I love her, but find her a bit heavy to manouver around when backing up, parking etc.

I was wondering if I could ask you fellow canadians where is the best place to get parts?  I am having a hard time finding a reasonable price for brake and clutch levers.  Ebay doesn't seem to have any for a 650. Would other models levers fit the 650?  Just curious!

Thanks

Hey Naturallgirl, how's it goin'?
So you need parts huh? Easiest thing to do is go to Motovan's website. Their catalogue is priced Cdn so what you see is what you pay. You can't order from them so you'll have to go into a dealer that can get their stuff to order.
I'm guessing by your email address that you go to U of Guelph? If so, Two Wheel Motorsports in Guelph has a good bunch of people in their parts department and can get Motovan stuff.
Good luck.
Petey.

Oh yeah, by the way, most levers will fit most bikes. They're all pretty much standard.

Thanks Petey.  I did call 2 wheel and they quoted $30ish for the clutch lever and $70ish for the brake lever.  Does that sound reasonable?  So you think any bandit parts will be interchangeable?  There are some levers on ebay but don't say for 650s.  I work in Guelph but live in Toronto.

Hi!  You can also try ordering from mrcycles.com and bikebandit.com.  They're not in Canada, but their prices are pretty good, and on the average, if the part needs to be ordered, it arrives faster than my dealer can get parts. I've used BikeBandit, I haven't used mr motorcycle, but their prices are definitely lower than BB.

Welcome to the forums btw :)

Hi Stormi

Thanks, I looked at both sites and they do not have the 05 650 bandit listed...just the 1200.  I didn't realize it would be so hard to find parts for my new bike!

Thanks though!

Not so true nowadays, what with the multitude of different master cylinders, adjustments and the fact they seem to have discovered if they make 'em different enough so they won't interchange, they can sell more parts.

That's because you have a 650 and the US never got that bike, so US sites won't be listing it. If you can get the part numbers of parts you want and then look up earlier 600/1200 Bandits or '07 1250's on US sites to see if what you're looking for is the same p/n, that may help.

I did give you some info in your other post on this subject.
