What to do while waiting for spring?
« on: December 06, 2006, 10:07:08 AM »
So, now that I have my new gsf1200s all tune up and ready to go, I need to find things to do to take my mind off riding. So I am going to compile a list, please feel free to add to it!!

1. Knit a sweater for my tank, it feels cold in the garage
2. Change the air in my tires, i think it's stale
3. Go out and stock up on depends, as I am probably going to scare the crap out of myself in the spring!!
4. Make a mp3 clip of the engine running and put it on my ipod, for bench racing purposes.
5. Put on naother coat of wax, 100 should be enough?
6. Oh yea christmas, good distraction for a day or so?
7. Try to find a set of tire chains and/or a stud kit for bandit, when I absolutely can't wait it out!!!
8. Remember to get more depends after that ride
9. Read every post here, again, and again.
10.Have a beer in the garage next to the bike...always a good feeling.

Any other ideas?

All I can do is drool over the new Muzzy exhaust that'll be here in a week or two...the Bandit isn't passed break-in so I won't be installing it just yet. I will be designing a rack system to keep the soft luggage off the plastic though, that'll keep me distracted for a while

Love your list!

If you get a good set of snow tires, let the rest of us know.  The hardest part is getting out of the parking lot, the roads are cleared and it's almost the same as riding after the rain.

Tarquin, you got to be patient in K-town (winter is a biatch there). Good thing you have all those great hang outs to distract your evenings. Man I miss that city!!! Too many good times to count there. I think you live in the highest per capita keg party area in the world. Enjoy it for me.

I am getting cabin fever!!!!!

Ok so I think I am not the only one that is now getting tired of the snow. It was a late season for us here in Ontario but with cold temperatures sticking around longer than usual and snow hanging around, I am getting some serious cabin fever. It is 4 degrees here in Niagara today, and if I had any less restraint I would be plowing through the slop as it melts from our streets. Who has been planning trips and studying maps for their first or future rides this year? Since i sold my klr and purchased my b12 in Novemeber I managed to get about 1500 kms in but god she looks good sitting in my garage!!! Get me out!!!!!! What are you guys/girls planning this year?? I hope to do a route that will take me and a few riders up through Tobermory and out to lake superior and back. I have a place about an hour from Tobermory so within a few hours I can be well on the way to the sault!! Nice roads on Manatoulin as a few of you can attest. Anyways lets talk it up, it keeps spirits bright in these lousy days of riding.
