I use one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Vaio-Personal-Computer-PCG-K23-EXTRA_W0QQitemZ6839017066QQcategoryZ80212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
A picture so sharp and clear it will blow you away. Really. I liked mine so much that after the first year I had it I bought 2 more of the exact same model for my daughters.
Not the most current model in their lineup, so really amazing price.
How do I say, "Laptop?"

I'm partial to HP/Compaqs'... I bought my last HP notebook from
Hpshopping.com configured like I wanted it....
It's about the same price you pay in the superstores,
but you can choose what you want or don't want-fully customizable...
Here’s one that would work. Base after rebate is $499.
Just click "recommended configuration", $702 after rebates...
CLICK HERE[/b] (http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_series.do?series_name=M2000Z_series&catLevel=2&category=notebooks/compaq_presario&storeName=computer_store)
You can adjust the components once there. Click it a try it out.
There's about a 2 week delay for build time...
Simple. Practical. and up to date
(no old stock clearances from the superstore warehouses).
Edit: Holy crap, I had like 20 spelling errors in this post,
no lookie while typie... had to fix'em

That looks like a nice deal, Mike. After years of using IBMs and Dells (laptops), my new HP rocks. I've had a couple techie guys install and update stuff on it and they always comment that it's nice.

Just buy whatever the best deal you can find is with a name-brand unit.
(Except for Toshiba's.... they suck)

Thanks for all your help! But just like buying a car these days they have it down too a science. Started out @ the walley world, depot for office junk, comp south of the boarder, & the big yellow wish i didn't buy. Met up with a nice older couple looking for the same thing! He knew his stuff! Last stop was at short curcuit. He suggested this, which was on sale that day only as a in store, with free printer.. After tx & rebates $900.00! Not bad and with nice printer!! Daughter is happy, and a few more hrs of over time and that baby is paid for!! Well close!!! What do ya think??? :beers:

Good deal Daytona..
A Pavillion DV5000 series with the same setup woulda
cost 989 from Hpshopping.com, so you got a good deal...
Nice system too...
