Hey all, I will be in NC that week with my wife for a Marauder group Rally.. if anyone else is in the area that week lets get together and go for a ride... The cruisers are allright, but I may be up for a little more "spirited" ride that week!! LOL
-
I'm sure the Marauder guys will have it all mapped out, but try to run
some of those roads just off the parkway like: 80/151/215. Those are in the Asheville area. The BRP is closed at Mt Mitchell and in the Boone area.
Have fun and grab a meal at the Pisgah Inn on the BRP. Also Jukebox Junction at the intersection of 215/276 just north of the BRP near Canton North Carolina, is a 50's style "soda shop" that serves a pretty good lunch.
The run up 215 to the Parkway from there is one to remember.

My wife and I work downtown Asheville and live South of Asheville. We can show you around and print up maps of some twisty backroads as well as some great scenic rides.
-
Hey thanks alot...cant wait to get down there... I'll be in touch

I just returned from a trip to Ashville w/my Wife and kids. They all really enjoyed the Biltmore Estate. I enjoyed the brew pubs. We spent an evening at Barley's Tap Room. Good beer. Great Pizza.
Ashville is a fun city to visit. There were bikes everywhere I looked. My B12 sat at home in the garage. It about tore me up to be near all that great riding w/o my bike.
My wife is crazy for theatre productions and the like. I think she wants to move after our visit. You are blessed to live in such a lively city. :beers:

I work just down the street from Barley's Taproom. Asheville is a wonderful and strange place, city life with small town charm, and I can't think of a better place to live. My wife, five friends and I just finished doing a 350 mile ride today covering NC, Tenn., and Virg. and only used the super-slab for 30 minutes the rest was backroads. Great riding, friendly people in this area.

I am counting the days till I get there.. everyone I have talked to has loved it down there.. cant wait to see it for myself
-
Knoxville is only 105 miles away!
Asheville is a very nice place to visit. If you like Italian food, I recommend Vincenzo's downtown.
-
There are very few "bad roads" around Western NC. You have to watch it though, the more famous ones like 129 and 276 can be race tracks on the weekends. More squids than a japanese seafood market.

On up towards the boone/ blowing rock area there is 181(sweepers mostly) and 221 fairly tight and awesome scenery. And pretty much any side road you see on the map is gonna be fun around that area.
-
I am counting the hours till I leave.. the Formula one race in indy sunday.. and as soon as its over we are headed to NC..See you guys on monday.. !!!!
-
Where will you be staying? I am off till wednesday and may just ride that way. Won't know till closer to that time because of the weather. But If it's as clear as it is today I will more than likely head that way.

The Ashville Hooters has a great bike night on Thursdays. Pretty big crowd there last week. It's just off of Tunnel Road, stop by if you get the chance. I ride a bright yellow first gen Bandit with cigars in the fairing vents.

Well it looks like you have a couple of clear days ahead and those late afternoon storms can be helpful in fine tuning your steering, throttle and braking inputs. Seriously enjoy your week and do make that run south from 276/215 intersection up to the BRP on 215. And don't forget 80, 151, 226A @ Little Switzerland south, 209 to Hot Springs. Oh man there are just tons of roads.
