So many of you from the SE, have not heard if anyone is going there.
It's a day's travel for me. Was considering the musuem & races, and then make my first try on the Dragon the following week for a couple more days.
Anyone interested?

I might go. I'm sure a couple of the Atlanta people are going.
Are you camping? Theres 29 Dreams MTC campground in the area.

hi Pete!
I was thinking about camping some of the time. If I tow down there, I'll have plenty of room for camping gear. Was thinking about getting there Thursday nite, spending the weekend there, and then traveling to Gap/Dragon on Monday for a couple of days. Back home on Tuesday or Weds.
Depends on whether someone wants to ride rather than tow (about 650 miles for me) and the price of gas (that might cancel all my plans).
I'd say I am 50-50 to go. Meeting up would be a better deal.

Who else is going?
I'll be working at the track in the mornings, and will be there from Thursday afternoon, until sunday. (Race control security)
I'll be camping at the track, along with John, Lloyd, and whoever.
It will be 'restrained' party time at night.
Look us up!
-
Pete, are you & Lloyd bringing your bikes? I plan to.
Larry, are you going to be there?
-
I'll bring the DR. Lloyd probably will.
Larry will be there off and on.
-
I shoud be in late Thursday night. I'll call you for directioms to camp. Otherwise wil find a motel if the camp is closed.

Barber is a BEAUTIFUL track! Went there yesterday for orientation.
John, I may show up early to thurs to hit the museum.
-
Yes...There's just enough room in Pete's truck to haul my DR200 to the track. I'll be over Friday just in time for qualifying, which starts at 2pm
local time. Driving to Leeds with Rick Acree, long time Bandit rider from Augusta. It's going to rain of us Friday evening.

I actually didn't get many pictures, Craig. I think John has some.
The track and museum are beautiful.
The one thing I don't like about the track, at least during the AMA race, is you can't ride your bike close to the paddock area.
They had a couple of empty, paved parking lots near the paddock entrance. I don't understand why they didn't have a bike parking section during AMA, like VIR.
You're also not able to pull your bike/car up on the grass, throw up some lawn chairs and a grill, and watch the race. You have to park in a 'parking area', and hoof to a spectator area.

Was it cold out there or what?
-
It was cool, breezy and at times a few sprinkles on sat.Sunday was much better and it was very nice by race time in the afternoon.John sorry I missed you sunday afternoon. All three race were great sunday especially the supersport.Pete I actually like the parking arrangement.Bikes get to park anywhere and you ride the tram any place you need to go.It was a good weekend, geeting to see friends and great racing.John sorry about the bike problems.I know it was a bummer to plan so much and have little grimlins cut your trip short.

I did get a few pictures. Not as good as I would have hoped, had to use a lot of digital zooom.
the Museum was great, folks in Alabama are always fun. Got to meet Duhamel & Shwantz. Races were good, weather was, uhh
Finally got the bike running. Looks like the culprit was frost, a weak battery and overfill on the last oil change.....man, that air box was dripping with oil. Must've kicked out a couple more onces when I opened the drain hose.
New battery, plugs & clean airbox ....all good to go. Poor prep on my part.....oh well, operator error after 44k miles.
Good to meet you all. Thanks for the memories Larry, Lloyd, Rick & Pete. As well as the crew of folks we met there like John, Wild Bill, and Walt.
Looking farward to seeing you in Ark, Lloyd . Don't know where I've stashed my old 'Dregs tapes.
Now Mr Acree, I can use some pointers with insurance over my new car. has a bent frame rail...arguing about "diminshed value" and $8k estimates......caught them trying to put a rebuilt bumper on the car !
pleanty going on here.....
