I did my first track day yesterday at Pocono (East Course). What a total blast! I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who enjoys riding in a spirited manner. I'll follow up with some more info and pics once I get caught-up here at work and work out some of the soreness. I NEVER thought I'd be so sore from riding less than 80 miles!
I did see 3 B12s there too. I spoke with two of them that were there together - also doing their first trackday, I beleive. They were super nice guys who seemed to be enjoying themselves very much. Hopefully, I was able to convert them to membership in our little corner of the world here.
-
Rob, sounds awesome dude any close calls? who`s limits got push farther you or the bike?
-
It really was great. Limits? Mostly mine, I'm sure. There was one corner where I felt especially comfortable - I could actually hear the tires adhering/sliding which was cool. Close calls? I blew one turn. It's a long story but a little indecision (and lots of run-off area) and I figured it was best to just regroup off-track. One of the coaches confused me and even apologized later.
I'm just going through some pics now. More later.

Rob
Sounds like a great day, post some pics!
-
Consider me converted! I'm the '04 B12S (the black bike) from pit garage #11. Yes, it was my first track day. I met Tom (the red Bandit) that morning. Nice guy.
Here we are, two days later, and I'm still high from my track day. I learned a lot about my bike and my riding. Minor changes in my riding from session to session helped bring it all together for me by the end of the day. During the end of my last session, I got a knee down.
That's BIG for me.
I would recommend track day for anyone with an even slight aggressive riding style who wants to improve their riding skills.
See you around!

Oh - I figured you guys were there together. You got a knee down? Awesome! I tried but just got a little scrape. It's funny - you and I were in the same group but I don't remember ever seeing you out on the track - just in the garage. We must have been running the same pace more or less (except when I was stuck behind the husband and wife team on their Ducs!). I spent a lot of time chasing that guy on the old Interceptor that was pitted in between us. You're from WC? I'm in Chester Co, too. I drive/ride from Oxford to KoP every day right through WC. The guys I was pitted with usually ride Northern Chester Co. a lot. I'll PM you next time. Last thing, here (http://www.fred-voit.com/frames.html) is a link to the photog that was there. He hasn't posted the pics from Monday yet but should any day.
Jay - are you instructing that class? It looks cool but I don't think I could swing new rubber and a track day that soon. I chewed up my rear tire good on Monday.
Sorry for lack of pics. Just too damn busy. Hopefully tonight (and hopefully the photo will get his posted).

No not instructing just riding practice
-
Jay - I'm hoping to do a day at Beaver in October either with Champion or NESBA.

Ok, I don't actually have any pics of me on the track yet. I went with my friend Chris/Cdyer71 (he has a work-in-progress B4 trackbike). He has some pics on his camera that I'll post soon. In the meantime...

Ok, I've got some pics of track day, nothing spectacular, but pics none the less. Problem is, I'm somewhat new to digital camera technology. I've transfered the pics onto the Nikon PictureProject software on my computer. I've tried to copy and paste them to this thread without success. I'll be glad to post them if I can figure out how. Anyone feel like they can help? I'll keep trying in the mean time.

Unfortunately, you can't save the pics here. You have to have them hosted on a share-friendly site and then post a hot-link here. Here (http://forums.banditalley.net/viewtopic.php?t=520) are some instructions and tips from the board FAQ.

Looks like I figured it out. Thanks for the help!
The bike on the right is me approaching the tight part of the last turn.

Sorry about the size of the last one...I'm learning.

Tom and a track coach rounding turn 1. Check out the tire skid marks! Two riders did low-side on this turn on Monday. Neither one got hurt. It was a deceiving turn.

It only takes once, then the next thing ya know, your a track addict. It is a great way to hone your skills, become smoother, and besides that. Its a blast. If I miss Nelson Ledges the 1st week of Aug. I'll have to try to make it to Beaver Run.

-
Thanks, Pete.
You're right, Dan - I'm sitting here figuring out how to get my next 'fix'. Damn that was fun. It didn't help that I went to watch the NESBA day at Beaver on Saturday. I'm thinking of doing Beaver with Champion or NESBA in Oct....

mklep,
Looks like you saw me even if I didn't see you! That's you behind me in turn 1, I believe (I'm in the loud red white and black leathers). The yellow bike in front of me was husband of the Ducati traffic-jam team. The wife on her 620 Monster Dark was in front of him.

Rob
Looking good! Nice lean! Wow! You da man!
-
Yea, if memory serves me right, you were able to get around them in the next straight away. I remember getting stuck behind them for what seemed like a month. Still had tons of fun though!
By the way, nice form. I believe you had just recently past me on the track
