Title: Swamp Thing
Post by: Sven on April 07, 2008, 09:26:24 PM
I got el bandido and a jetski confused.  Sunday (4/6) we rode the MRT and stopped at Shelby Forest where the Mississippi River is flooded two miles into the forest.  (You may have seen a pic I posted from last weekend at this same place.)  We then headed up to Richardson Landing.   They Army C of E is sandbagging the levees in New Orleans where the river is expected to crest at 17 feet...we are expecting 38 feet in a couple days.

Nice boots...did you get those from a friend in New Brunswick? :stickpoke:

Wow...of course the weather here is still much to cold to be thinking of flooding, we are still adding snowpack in the high altitudes...

BUT there is a whack of snow up in our Rocky and Purcell Mountains. If it gets warm fast, and rains, we will also have flooding, and then send the flood waters East to Winnipeg and South to Washington/Oregon.

Oh, dear! I'm all for dirt biking, but leave the street bike at home!

I certainly did not anticipate this level on enthusiasm about my boots.  They are Treds, "road tested, biker approved" motorcycle rainboots.  Check them out at www.treds.com.

As for getting them on New Brunswick:  While I did ride on New Brunswick Road on Sunday, I didn't do any shopping.  Still, you're knowledge of our Wolfchase Galleria mall area is admirable.

I find the power of flood water alluring, but yes, I did it for the picture.  The other wieners who showed up to look at the water were afraid to get their pretty little toys dirty.

I love that one of the selling features of that boot is LOOK SHARP. Who cares about looking sharp when your feet are dry... even when motorcycling in a river! You should sell that photo to the boot company for their website!!
