My 1st ride report ... I'm not much of a writer, but here goes...
Finally got a chance to get away for a weekend, and what better way to spend it than a motorcycle trip with 6 other enthusiasts !!!. So the 7 of us met up at a Tim Hortons (of course, we're still in Canada, eh?) at 7 am and headed towards the boarder.
THe weather was awsome, the roads were curve, and surprisingly almost no traffic... (well, at least compared to Toronto traffic). We took the Rt16 down and made our way through the 44 and took most of the 144 south. That road is incredible !
I finally got a chance to 'break-in' my bike... it is past its break-in period, but i finally got a chance to lean it over a few times
...
Had my share of "oh sH*t" moments, as unexpected gravel and blind turns aren't always the best combination... Some of the elevation changes were also interesting, especailly on the turns... That's where we had the unfortunatel event where 2 of our guys went down on the same turn... THey were both OK (Thank God). One just low sided at a really slow speed on the shoulder (he went wide) and the other also went wide, but went into the grass...
Here is the damage...
Despite the unfortunate event, they both got back on like nothing heppened and enjoyed the remaider of the trip...
We swung by the Hyner View... simply amazing !!!
We stayed in Lock Haven overnight at a Best Western, where we were allowed to park by the front doors to keep the bikes visible.
Day 2 we headed up the 44 and made our way west on the 59 to see the Kinzua Bridge and Dam. Both awsome sights !
From there we headed north on the 62, 60 and hopped on the freeway to the CDN boarder!
Overall, an excellent trip. Planning to go again in October for the Fall colo(u)rs !!!
