Willville Bike Camp - July 4th weekend
« on: June 20, 2005, 04:07:32 PM »
I plan on heading down to Willville on Sat. July 2 for the weekend. Anybody that's interested in meeting up there and doing some riding, you're certainly welcome.

Rolens is open again

Had a good time at Willville this past weekend. Camp was prett full Sat. night. Mostly Hardleys, Goldwings and Beemers. Couple of VStroms and assorted metric cruisers.

Rolens in Hillsville is open again. They moved across the street from the old location. I didn't eat there, but Will mentioned it to me.

I found a really good ride on Sunday. Took Rt. 58 west past Independence, then 16N through Rogers Natl Forest across I81 at Marion. Then continuing past Hungry Mother State Park, 16 gets real technical. Though I was on the Dragon. Many 15 mph switchbacks coming down the mountain. Then took 42 east back towards Wyhteville. At Wytheville I took 21 down to Sparta, NC, got on the BRP back to Willeville. About a 250 mile loop.

Glad you had fun gary, I have been thinking about running 16 all the way to bluefield as I heard it is a good ride and the fact that I can hit 16 with a rock from my porch. You just helped my decision along, I was gonna try to come meet up with you for a day ride but didn't know if you'd be there on monday. Maybe next time, If you ever get over to that campground over this way in the boone area, let me know and I'll show you some roads around there. Later, Josh
