Title: 1200 engine differences
Post by: spence27 on January 06, 2007, 01:06:45 PM
Is there any major difference from older 1200 engine to newer? Can I put a pre 2001 engine in a 2001 with no problem? thanks

The basic engine is the same, so they interchange easily. The 2001-2006 carbs and alternator are different from the 200-earlier ones, but they will fit on the older motor and vice-versa, so if you keep these parts from your bike, you can put the other motor in as a plug and play.

On some of the first Gen B12's, (non-CA), there is no PAIR system set up, the blocks are not drilled and tapped, so no need to do a PAIR removal.
