I've been trying to fix a wrecked 02 1200S and its been a huge headache. I wont babble on about all the issues but I'm hoping someone can help me with my current issue.
I ordered a triple clamp off ebay that stated it was for an 03 1200S. As I understand it, the clamps are the same for 01-04. Can someone confirm this? The parts I received were a silver top clamp and a black bottom clamp. The black bottom does not fit. My 01 has silver top and bottom and the 02 orginally had silver top and bottom. I'm thinking I received the wrong bottom clamp but the seller does not agree with that.
SO... do 01-04 use the same parts? If so, how can I prove this part will not fit a 03 bandit 1200s as he listed in the auction? Anyone have the inner/outer dimension specs for the 03 1200S bottom clamp?
I wish I could say this is the first time something like this has happend from ebay... sometimes its just not worth the few $$ you save.
TIA!!

You can go to the microfiche for the steering of a 2001-2004 B12 at Ron Ayers (click here) (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0315/steering_stem_gsf1200s_k1_sk2_sk3_sk4/steering_stem_gsf1200s_k1_sk2_sk3_sk4.cfm?man=su&groupid=4770&parent=4740) and see that the header for this page of parts covers the GSF1200S K1 ('01) thru K4 ('04).
You can also check the naked version (click here) (http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0315/steering_stem_gsf1200_k1_k2_k3/steering_stem_gsf1200_k1_k2_k3.cfm?man=su&groupid=4770&parent=4740) and see that the naked GSF1200 K1 ('01) thru K3 ('03) uses the same lower triple clamp/steering stem as the "S" version. (P/N 51410-32F00 or 51410-32F10 - both of which Ron Ayers charges $293.96 for)
Do you have the damaged original? Anyway to get any dimensions off it?
Hole spacing and diameters should match the upper, so if they don't that should be proof enough right there.
