right. seeing as the gsf750 bandit engine is a "de-tuned" GSX-R 750 engine (slab side model)...
what are the actual differences between them. as i'm itching to get more power from mine. lol.
anyone know? thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you have a KATANA or GSXR 750 motor in a Bandit 600 frame......I could be wrong. I've never heard of a Bandit 750, but know that some guys have done that KATANA 750 or GSXR 750 transplant. There is no replacement for displacement. Sale the 750 and get a 1200. :banana:

its a japanese import.

The 750 Bandit was a Japanese market only bike. They do show up in other countries where gray imports are allowed - like the UK, Oz, etc.
The only specs I could find on the B7.5 are for the '96 model. I doubt there were any changes for follow-on years though. The power specs for the '96 Bandit 750 are 77 hp (57 kW) @ 9,000 rpm & 6.5 kg-m @ 7,000 rpm.
FWIW - the '96 B6 puts out 77 hp (57 kW) @ 10,500 rpm & 54 Nm @ 9,500 rpm.
The 85-91 GSX-R750's put out 106-120 hp @ 10,500-11,000 and 64-68 Nm @ 6000-7000 RPM depending on model & year.
The '98 GSX750 Inazuma (same engine family as the Bandit) put out 86 hp (63 kW)/ 9,500 rpm and 67.1 Nm/ 8,500.
The '98 GSX750F Katana (again, same engine family) put out 92 hp (67.2 kW) @ 10,500 rpm and 64.70 Nm (6.6 kg-m) @ 9,500 rpm.

Differences between your Bandit motor and the early GSX-R would be cams, lower compression & smaller carbs. The early GSXR 750's came in two versions, long and short stroke. The Bandit, Katana & Inazuma are based on the long stroke version. The most powerful of the first generation GSX-R750s, the 120 hp limited production 89-90 GSX-R750R (Double-R) was also a long stroke motor.

and what you think mines likely to be with a viper can, down geared sprokets. and i'm about to to do the ignition advancer and remove the air box snorkel.
would it be a case of swapping the cams? or would it require mod/anything else?

The cams would help, but you're not going to see GSX-R levels without bumping the compression up and slipping on bigger carbs. IIRC, the Double R has a better cylinder head, too.
The Viper can and snorkelectomy should be done in conjuction with a rejetting - or at least a little fine tuning. I'd speculate a 5-10 hp increase.
The gearing down change won't change hp, but it will make it feel like it due to the increased snappiness it provides.
