I was wondering if anyone on here knew what parts are swappable between a 2001 Bandit 600S and other Suzuki models. Things like steering stabilizers and fork re-valves don't seem to be available for my GSF wherever I look, so since I planned on lowering it and stiffening it up anyways, I thought I might as well replace the front and rear suspension from another Suzuki model. Also, if anyone knows of swappable engine parts, that'd be a great help too.

I know various GSXR USD forks will fit onto the Bandits with minimal modification. Do a search on Fork Swaps to find that info. I'm mounting a '92 GSXR front end onto my 400.

I believe the same year GSXR Rear shocks will fit as well, as will a few others.

There are lots of posts in here regarding the B6 forks. Yes, in stock form they're grim. A lot of us have done the routine job of putting in progressive springs and a quality fork oil in either 10 or 15wt depending on how stiff you want them. Race tech does have cartridge emulators you can put in if you're a real perfectionist. The B12 rear shock works well and is cheap/easy to install. I feel this is the route to go as it can save hrs and $$ on swaps from other machines. Plus, when you're buying used forks who knows what you're going to get.

For engine parts, probably some Katana 600/750 stuff will work.
We've had a couple guys drop in complete 750 Katana engines in Bandit 600s.
There are a lot of parts that are interchangeable, or 'will fit' with a little work......
I guess it would be nice if somebody compiled a list....

Thanks guys, I seemed to find most of what I was looking for. Well, after searching around, it is pretty safe to say I'll probably use GSX-R suspensions for the front and rear because then I can get aftermarket parts for them (the most important of which a steering damper). One thing I was unclear about, however, is if my bike is a 2001, should I use the 2001 GSX-R suspension or a later model's? Also, I'm not quite sure how lowering links work, so should I order the links for my Bandit or the GSX-R, after the swap?

The USD forks that fit the Bandits best are older ones. Newer GSXR's are too short. As for a steering stabilizer, if you feel the need for one, try contacting Holeshot and see if the one they sell for the B12 will work on the B6.

Unless you're changing the swingarm, use lowering links for the GSF. See the shock swapping thread for proven shocks that work.
