Title: BikeBandit Article on Suspension

They're using Harleys for the examples, but I would think that the same basic principles apply?

Oh! And if that guy can get on that Kawi,... none of you can use the beer bellies as an excuse for not managing the same.   :thud:

Looks like a great easy to digest article and will make good reading for the bathroom where I do all my big picture reading. As far as the gentleman in the photo, I try not to use people as benchmarks (not that you are) because it has a tendency to take my focus off my own short comings when it comes to health, food and exercise. Looks like he is having fun though, anecdotal pun withheld.

Yup...the same basic principles apply...there are a couple of small factual errors here (concerning cavitation) and the article doesn't help you figure out what to do to improve your suspension, but it is a good, basic explaination or springs, sprung and unsprung weight, preload, damping - compression and rebound, etc.

It doesn't cover adjustments, differences between damper rod and cartridge forks, etc.
