Title: Break info
Post by: NarkolepticBandit600S on April 29, 2007, 06:29:36 PM
I know that the old forum site had information on rotors, shoes and brake lines...ect. But I cant seem to find a thread on brakes here. So if you dont mind telling me something that has prob been said 100 time befor...here goes.

2001 B6 I need break work done. I dont think I need new rotors, but definatly need them turned, and of course new shoes, this is just for the front for the time being. I have been looking up break parts but cant a good place that has much information.  If anyone has some pointers and info on this subject please let me know. thanks

I doubt you can find anyone that'll turn m/c rotors. Generally, if they get grooved or warped, they're replaced.

Go to the web sites of the pad brands you are considering to choose the compound that suits you. Here's a few popular brands:

EBC (http://www.ebcbrakes.com/motorcycle.html) (also makes rotors)
Ferodo (http://www.federal-mogul.com/en/AftermarketSolutions/Asia-Pacific/BrakingSolutions/Products/BrakePads-Shoes/FerodoMotorcycleBrakePads/)
Galfer (http://www.galferusa.com/MOTO.html) (also makes brake lines & rotors)
SBS - Scandinavian Brake Systems (http://www.sbs.dk/index.dsp?area=84)
