Okay...out riding yesterday...nothing out of the ordinary.

Then....bzzzzzz

Nothing major. In fact, if you had never ridden my bike before, you probably wouldn't pay any attention to it.

But I have ridden my bike before...and I noticed it.

A sudden increase in the 'buzziness' of the bike. Directly related to engine RPM. No change in sound. The buzziness is not harsh. But definately enough to cause a bit of a tingle in the hands and feet after some time on the highway.

This bike was smooth as glass right up to that point. Again, the change was sudden...I noticed it the moment it started. Happens in all gears and even in neutral.

Comments on what I should take apart first?

No other variables you haven't told us about that could mess things up? Gasoline changes? Storage without Stabil?

If not... I would try a carb sync before anything else.

Might be a good excuse to check torque settings. Or, maybe a cowling/paneling fastener has rattled loose.

That's what has me baffled. I was riding when the change occured.

Going down the road at 45 MPH and boom...starts buzzing. (Just for clarity...there was no "boom"....that was just for effect).

The bike's been a daily commuter and weekend warrior. Carbs sync'ed. Valves adjusted this summer.

I'm hoping for someone to post up a "Yeah, that happened to me and this was the problem..."

I just did another carb sync....everything was within spec.

If nothing else, I'll start with the valves (God, I hate pulling that valve cover). When I bought the bike last spring, I found one of the valve adjuster screws laying in the head. In that case, I knew something was up because one of the valves was much louder than the others.

Other than the buzz, there was no change in engine sound or performance. Did a few full throttle blitzes just to see if something was getting ready to break. Ran like a champ....a 600cc buzzing champ.

I agree I would try the simple stuff like retorqueing the motor mounts and such. Other than it slighlty buzzy does it run well? No lack of power or other weird hiccups?

My bike is brand new and is a little buzzy from 4000-4300 roughly. Seems like a normal bandit trait.

Also my fairing buzzed like crazy untill I put some rubber between the shield and the fairing. It was noisy and maybe gave the impression the "buzziness" was worse than it actually was.

I would bet anything it is fairing buzz.

Ride and when the buzzing starts, grasp at pieces on your faring. It will either be windshield or fairing pieces. It is easily repaired by placing tape in between where surfaces meet. Also have a look at your manual and check all mounting screws for the fairing brackets. I have had them fall out also.

This is very common on the Bandit. Does it around 3000+ RPM

Don't forget to check the 4 allen bolts which fasten down the mirrors. They are hidden by the rubber sleeve around the mirror support.

My B12 started buzzing around the fairing area and I found 2 of these were finger tight...big difference.

Left side inner & outer Body Panels buzzed. Area just under my left hand. Placed a rubba grommet inbetwixt. No mas buzz.

I have a 2000 1200 and developed a similiar vibration. Well I found it today. The tool kit is vibrating like it had batteries in it. I guess I didn't put it back together like I should have last time.
