Same thing it does on the B12.

It advances the timing 5* (across the board, from idle to redline) for improved throttle response and stronger bottom-end and midrange.

I put the advancer from Dales kit in my 96 b6 before the jet kit was installed. The bike felt stronger when I took it for a test ride.

I will caution you, I have seen a case where a timing advancer will make your bike idle like crap. This happens when the bike's timing may be a little off from the standard factory settings. The B-12's timing is not adjustable, so whatever you get from the factory you must live with.

With the bike in question, the advancer was removed and instant idle was acheived.

You could check with Manny on this board as if my memory serves me correct, he has written a few posts about advancers.

Manny put Ivan's jet in his B12 so he didn't switch out the timing advancer like I will in my B6 with Dale's jet kit!
