i was looking over at bandit faqs because i need a new shock.  does anyone know if an 03 gsx-r would work on a 01 bandit 600?  they can be had on ebay for like 25 bucks, so if anyone knows that would be awesome.

I don't know, but if you can find out it's length and compare it to some knowns listed in the FAQ, you may be able to figure it out.

OTOH, Hayabusa shocks are just as cheap and will fit the 2G B6 just as well as they do the B12. (Meaning you have to trim a tab off the airbox.)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the overall spring diameter of the newer gsxr shocks were too great to fit on the bandits.

I have a GSXR 1100 shock on my 98 B12. The links did rub the spring, I used washers to move them out to clear.
If I didn't have a Suzuki, I would have a Kawasaki

Ohlins is sweet, but many of us buyy Bandits because we're cheapskates, looking for the best bang for the buck, hence the popularity of swapping in a cheap OEM shock from something else and only spending $40.
