The Fram's have the smallest amount of filter media, too.

FYI - Suzuki street bikes use like two different filter #'s and the the one the Bandits use is the more common of the two, so they're generally easy to find... at least on this side of the border. I can pick up K&N, NAPA, Purolator & STP filters off the shelf at auto parts stores. Which one depends on which chain you go to.

I love the K&N units, ya dont need a wrench because they have a nut on the front. 1 spanner and the jobs done.
Foot loose and fancy free.
Looking for adventure and what ever comes our way.

+1 Why bother with anything else when K&N is so handy, widely available and not more expensive than OEM?

I haven't bought one for the Bandit yet, but K&N for my old Zephyr was almost exactly the same price as Kawasaki OEM - about CA$10. Who knows.

I gotta check it out more thoroughly...I just saw the ones at crappy tire, assuming they would have good prices but you could be right.

I've got oem in her now so i'll be a little while before i change her again.

Cool thing about the OEM filter is the condom over the end....  nice touch IMHO.  I also found out the hard way that filter "socket" wrenches from WallyWorld won't fit the Zuk OEM filter.  I just use a rubber strap wrench.

Don't use fram if you plan on it being on for a while! Or buy the ones made over the boarder (top of the map) the ones that failed on the Honda were made over the other boarder? They are screwed on too tight when installed, if they won't unscrew by one with a good grip, by hand! One thing i find works on bikes like my busa with limited space, is a reg type hose clamp. Screw it on the end and with the nut driver on the clamp hex, a few bumps from say a rubber mallet its loose! This i'm doing thru a louver excess in fairing. Not wide open like the Bandit!!  :?:
