Title: Exhaust can stud?

I have a standard can from a 99 model 1200 with a snaped stud,does anyone know if the bit that screws into the silencer is left or right hand thread?I need to repair it for M.O.T. time.

Thanks mate, That will have saved me some wasted time and a lot of swearing
