question about hoses under the tank
« on: July 06, 2007, 08:07:58 PM »
2005 Bandit 1200
I am reassembling everything following the 600 mile valve adjustment. Now I see there's three hoses under the tank. One near the petcock is for the vacuum, I know where it gets plugged (on the PAIR hose which comes from the carb)

But next to the fuel gauge there are two other hoses, a thick one which I guess is for pressure relief in the tank ( I would guess) and a thinner which actually gets split in 2.  I know the thick one goes under the bike but what bout the 2 thin ones? Should they be plugged somewhere or are thhey the water drain lines and why are they split in two?

Thanks...

They are just drain lines that come out near the right front foot peg.

Thanks, I just cannot figure it out why they split them if they come out at the same location

Well I put one of them through the swingarm near the rear shock. Maybe they are supposed to come out at different locations?

I dunno.... why do you have two nostrils?

Maybe in case one gets plugged up?

One is a water drain from were the gas cap is and the other comes from inside the gas tank.

They drain the same area, the hose that splits, but one end is threaded out towards the can along the subframe and the longer one is snaked down the frame near the rotation point of the swingarm and ends at that collection of hoses near the oil drain bolt.  I would venture a guess that the split is due to one portion draining gases which the other portion drains liquids.  Speculation though...

Sorry... it's a "zen" thang...

What is the sound of one hose dripping? :bandit:
