Anybody else have trouble locating nuetral on a new 650? Seems to be really fiddly. Will it get better as she loosens up? She's only got 75 km. on it.

Yes everybike i've ever had new has had funky trans stuff until worn in, shift it like you mean it though. :motorsmile:

It should get better as it breaks in, especially after the first oil change (600 mi/1000 km) and you get that OEM oil out of there. The SACS gearboxes (Bandit 600/650/750/1200, early GSXR, GSX-F Katana 600/750/1100 & GSX1100G) are some of the best, smoothest shifting boxes out there. One thing the magazines usually praise Suzukis for is their smooth gearboxes.
Just so you know, a bit of a clunk going into 1st from neutral is normal, as is a notchier shift between 1-2/2-1 than the rest of the gears... because you're going thru neutral.

The tranny feels great shifting into all the gears except neutral- I kinda like the clunk into first as it reassures me I AM in first. I come from an old cruiser with one down and three up so it seems I'm never in the 'right' gear with this six speed, but I'm LOVIN' it!

Shifting is a little notchy during break-in.
Change to Mobil-1 full synthetic after the break-in period (about 2000 miles) and you'll notice a big improvement in shifting.

Hewy - finding neutral seems better - 500 km. on the odometer now and I can actually get into neutral every time from above but NEVER from below. Weird!
