Title: front tire size difference?
Post by: elbandido on April 07, 2006, 11:46:23 PM
hey all, is there a big difference in performance using a front tire size, 120/70/17 vs. the manufacturer's suggestion of 120/60/17? Should I even go against what the manufacturer suggests?

The 70 series tire will be taller and will slow steering a bit.

I'm running a Perelli 120/70/17 up front. Just a little plus to running this size is at 50mph your speed-o will be dead on perfect (well better anyway). My buddies and I checked it with radar.

Unless you ride a 2G or 3G bike... their speedos read off the countershaft, so gearing changes and rear tire size effect the speedo, not the front.

I saw you did, I was posting for anyone else that might be curious if it would work for their newer bike.

For the newer, you can adjust using something like Yellow Box.
