Can someone give me some advice on what to do i have a 02 bandit 1200 i cleaned my carbs very good the float bowls do have ga in them but im not getting fuel to my spark plugs so im only running on 3 cylinders can someone pls help i dont know what to do. Ive changed the plugs the wires are putting out strong spark but im not getting fuel to them why?
-
So it's only the one cylinder that's not getting fuel to it?
-
yes its only the #4 cylinder the rest are find getting gas and spark.
-
I guess that you have checked that No 4 floatbowl is getting fuel?? Is no 4 sparkplug getting wet? By your reported strong spark I would say not, so it is time to pull the carbs again, and go throught no 4 carb especially closely; a passage or jet is blocked, it could even be the float valve sticking.

Yes my #4 float bowl is getting fuel. My#4 sparkplug however is not its dry. also i just did a little test by placing my hand over the # 4 carb and it barely has suction while ideling but when i rev the engine with my hand over it the suction is much stronger but still no fuel getting to #4 plug.

Re-clean the carbs. Paying particular attention to ALL the JETS and other passages being clear.

ok ill do that but i just got this message after i have reinstalled after cleaning the # 4 carb is it possible even though the others or running good that it can still possibly be dirty
-
Does a 02 bandit 1200 come with an accellerator pump if so where is it located on the bike?
-
It is always possible for a carb to be dirty, fuel quality these days is terrible.
If the 1200 has accelerator pumps they are incorporated into each carb body.

I don't think there are any accelerator pumps, but another thing to check is the vacuum diaphragm on top, that it's not leaking, or missin the tiny little o-ring.
-
Ok here is all ive tried so maybe you guys may get a better understanding for what may be going on ive cleaned the carbs out at least 3 times now all four of them but still im not getting fuel to the plugs and yes all bowls on each carb has gas in them carb1,2 and 3 or fine and buring right 4 is being a A-hole.
There is a small o ring missing on my #1 carb but that carb is working just fine ive even taken the o ring from #1 and put it on the #4 lol and still same thing the #1 works fine and the #4 doesn't. Im sure the carb covers or tight and ive even swaped out the rubber boots from the #1 to the #4 to make sure that wasnt the problem still no fuel on #4.
I notice something a lil paculiar on my #4 carb i started the bike up looked down the throat of the #4 carb while it was running to see if i can see gas squirting and it was but every now and then i'd notice a blue spark would shoot out of it and im not sure if thats how that is suppose to be but just thought i'd mention it.
Im sure i dont have a bad valve on #4 because when took the spark plug out of it and started it up for like 3 seconds and look down into the engine i see it moving and it pushes air out of that spark plug hole with alot of pressure.
Anyway i think ive tried everything WHY CANT I GET FUEL TO MY #4 CYLINDER :banghead:
-
Sounds like what dink says, you've still got some blockage somewhere in that #4 carb.
-
Well i just cleaned the carbs out again every hole and every jet still nothing and now the bike is harder to start and when it does if i try and give it gas it shuts off this is b4 it even warms up it has to be something else wrong and also no matte if the bike is on prime or reserve gas is overspilling from the carbs. What should i do?
-
Continual fuel flow is stuck float needles. You can try tapping on each bowl with a screwdriver handle, if that doesnt work you are going into the carbs again. In most Suzuki carbs the idle circuit is feed from around the emulsion tube, so this is the area you need to concentrate on.

if it isnt one thing its another :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: im missing out on riding
-
Not sure if i found the problem. But what does it mean if u start the bike with the air filter off and place your hand over the mouth of the intake portion of a carb and their is only little suction this is what is going on on my #4 carb while the bike is running all the rest 1 thru 3 if i try and do this the bike shuts off while #4 continues to run and only have little suction?
-
Then I'd say you have a vacuum leak @ #4. Try spraying starting fluid or WD-40 around the #4 manifold, mount flange, carb clamp, vacuum hose attachments and anywhere else you suspect vacuum might be suffering. Check the condition of the vacuum hoses and the manifold itself.
