Headlight Aiming

2001 B6... Bugeye Headlights...  I am using the adjustment bolts that are mentioned in the 95-01 manual provided here, yet no movement has been made and I have tested each bolt... I am using "A" bolts.  My headlights are in the trees (ok... people's windows to their roofs)... They are not on the road and are almost useless.  As I am driving down the road, I can only use ambient light and the edge of the "cone of light"... But hey, I can see the signs that hang on the traffic light poles...


So what I really want is to move both beams down to the road... And the adjusters are not working for me...

On the faired model the projector modules are held in place by 3 screws each.  One is for left/right, one is for up/down, and the third is basically a pivot point.  All three can be used but not all three can be accessed with the light in place.

You might be at the far end of your adjustment based on the pivot point location.  If so you'll have to back that one out (by turning in) instead of using a "A" screw.  It makes more sense if you've seen the inside of the unit and how the 3 screws (bolts) work together.

Sitting on the bike and looking at the low beam side there are 3 adjustment screws located at 10 o'clock, 2 o'clock and 5 o'clock.

The 10 o'clock adjuster is accessed thru a hole in the dash panel and makes left/right beam movements.

The 5 o'clock adjuster is in plain sight and uses a 10mm nut driver for up/down beam movements.

The 2 o'clock adjuster (pivot point) is located up and underneath the dash panel and can only be accessed by removing the entire light module.  You might be able to finesse a wrench under there but it's pretty cramped.  If you run out of travel up/down/left/right this is the screw you need to use to gain more movement.

The high beam side is a mirror image of what's listed above...  with 10 o'clock being the pivot, 2 o'clock being left/right adjustment and 7 o'clock being the up/down adjustment.
