Title: Is it normal for the Neutral light to Flash?

This may be silly but here it goes.  Is it normal for the neutral light to flash when shifting from 1st to second and downshifting from 2nd to 1st?  I never had this happen on the Suzuki GS500E.  I am just curious.

yes.

Remember, shifting into first, you shift down.  Shifting into second, you shift up.  Basically you are shifting throught the neutral position for a split second, so the light will flash for a second.

Thanks.  I have had 3 bikes and this is the first that "I can remember" that does this.

At least I know that I am not going crazy.

I've never noticed mine do that. Maybe if you shift slow?

I never noticed it on my 1G but it is very obvious on my 2G. I might just be riding this one more at night when it is more obvious...

Yep, I've noticed the neutral light between shifts from 1st to 2nd.  Doesn't happen a lot, but this is nothing to be concerned about.
