The factory carbs work really well depending on your setup. Is there something you've changed radically that affects the stock carb performance? A little more info please. A lot of people use the 38mm flatslides but it does take a little tuning to get working perfectly. YOu'd be suprised what a carb sync and a mixture screw adjustment does.

I have the 1246 kit in my Bandit and have the 38 mm flat slides. For the street I would keep the 36 mm carbs that came on the bike, smoother, easier to tune, and not such a strong return spring.
My old GSXR 1216 ran 9.60s with stock carbs with jet kit.
If I didn't have a Suzuki, I would have a Kawasaki

i havent done anything to radical to the motor or carbs except for jet them, ignition advancer and a yosh r3 exhaust from th ehead back. my main problem with the carbs is that i am haven 1 stick open and flooding my air box with gas (long story on how that happend dont want to go inot that at this point in time but lets just say that the shop i took it to had a 4 year old put it back together and i am now getting the hoses back to where the should be hooked into!) plus it is an 01 and i am looking for alittle more bang for my buck and i am not a bug fan of cv carbs

Maybe you should just break them down to the bits and pieces, sclean it all very well, and rebuild them from the ground up.  At least you know it will be done right, and if you still have problems, you can be mad at yourself, and start over.

It would be worth the knowledge, and would cost nothing but time.

Just a friendly suggestion.

thank u everyone for telling me what i really didnt want to hear! what part of i trely do not like cv carbs did everyone not get! so if anyone else reads this after i post it and u also do not like the performance that the cv carbs give u. then i suggest going with a set of mikuni slide carbs 36mm! I slapped them in last weekend,u will also need to pick up the k&n air filters for those carbs and get ride of that airbox! i have had my 01 B12 since 2001 new off the showroom floor i have had it jetted and tried everything else to those carbs and never felt the power that i have now out of the bike! so hopefully u read this and take my advice and throw those peice of sh!t cv carbs away and go with a good carb that will give more gas and more ass to that bike!        :thanks:  :monkeymoon:

Glad you're happy with the new carbs.  :bigok:

FWIW, the CV carbs are not usually a problem on the B12 and have done a fine job in engines pulling another 50% more horsepower than stock.

I can understand your frustration.  Your carbs got messed up by an amateur so you soured on them.  If you found some decent carbs and they're working for you, great.  Carbs are massed produced and like anything mechanical there are some "lemons" out there.

Also I and others on this board had some pretty wacky settings on the carbs out of the factory. I had to demand the dealer drill the mixture plugs just to be normal. I still have one carb that seems to be a little lean on the pilot I just have to figure out which one. I'm glad you're happy with your new carbs.
