Title: Midrange buzzing gas tank and fairing fix?
Post by: CWO4GUNNER on March 20, 2007, 01:23:23 AM
My 05 B12 has never had an actual vibration or buzzing problem that I can actually feel, but it sure has the sound affects for it at midrange throttle in the vicinity of the tank an fairing. I am considering using old inner tube material from my dirt bike to pad suspect locations under the tank and fairing. Before I waste my time, does anyone know of a solid fix for this noise? or are there specific locations to pad that fix the problem? If someone else has worked out a great fix I would appreciate the intel.

Owners have complained of that sort of thing from different places. Not everyone has it though. Your location is one of the more common ones, another is in some of the several part junctions around the windscreen area. You're on the right track for a fix. Old inner tube, foam tape and just about anythin else you can think of that'll fit into the subject location and damp or eliminate the noise has been used.

Failing that, do what I do, and wear ear plugs
