Title: Mikuni Flatsides *warning now with images*

I've been keeping my eye open for a set of flatsides for the 1200...when guess what i run in to a set of maybe 33mm listed off of a 600 (i think they are probably 34mm as those are the ones listed on the mikuni page). Now these won't fit my bike, BUT they will fit some project bikes  :motorsmile:.
The question is, what would they be worth? They are used he claims in perfect condition with everything there... also is there something I should look for when going to see them?
To be honest I have no idea about flatsides...in fact am worried won't know enough to even tell they ARE flat sides!   :annoy:

thanks, was worried they would be some strange flatside model...looks like mikuni hasn't changed much  :grin: just measured them they are 34mm...now if ONLY they were 36.

You might check and see if the 34s can be bored to 36.

sitting on my work bench but i was being sarcastic. they need MORE then just a good cleaning. they need work done to them. i don't think u can bore flatslides like u could smoothbore carbs

i paid 300 for my set of 34's they work great on older kawasaki's like the z1 and kz's. if i can't get my 36's to work im gonna try my 34's on the bandit

you think there is a chance the 34mm could be set up to work on the 1200? I thought it would not flow enough air.

i had mine on 1075cc kited z1 never had an problems. small carbs give more bottom end. im just gonna put some big jets in and try'em :idea:

ok...my mistake...turns out they are TM33 it seems these are mostly installed on dirt bikes...weird. And they have what look like tool marks from being bored...because I KNOW they don't measure 33...it's more like 33.8mm with the calipers. Guess there's nothing for it, I'll have to throw them on ebay or kijiji and see what happens....but then there is a part of me that just wants to try them now... :bomb: evidently i want to fail
finally got my hands on them today and had to satisfy my curiosity and take apart the pumper portion, decidedly odd, but very simple.

The cover on the left is clearly off another carb

missing a float bowl screw, the screws are worn and should be replaced

Im fairly tempted. They seem to be from an early gsxr750 slabside i think
