Title: my g2 speedo

I changed the front sprocket on my G2 1200 and the speedo soon after ,about 500 kms stopped working and now works every now and then for no obvious reason.any body got any explanation or ideas.

Dirty speed sensor, loose connection, shorting wire.

Paul..B4 i go pulling it all apart,does the speedo take its signal from in the area of the front sprocket?..IV'E got this theory that every time i oil the chain which is before every ride that the excess throws itself all over the area of the front sprocket and then the speedo doesn't work..any thing in this????

Yes, it gets its signal from the front sprocket. I suppose it's possible that it's gotten so grundged up it can't read it reliably, but I haven't heard of that ever being a problem. Would be easy enough to check tho....
