Noticed a few scuff marks in my tank clearcoat already from my jacket material/fasteners at the crotch area. Without a bra or one of those stickon protectors, what is the best protector in a bottle one could use?

I don't think there is anything in a bottle that will properly protect the paint from scuff marks.

In my opinion you've got 4 options.

1. Tank Bra
2. Tank pad/stick on protector
3. Don't wear anything that will scuff the tank
4. Don't ride the bike.

What about that 3M product that car dealers apply to the nose section of vehicles to protect against stone chips? It is a clear self-adhesive plastic that is nearly impossible to see when applied. I don't know if it simply comes in a roll or is custom cut to fit various vehicles. Might be worth a try. BTW I have the same problem with my bike so if you come up with a solution let us know

I used to use a tank bra, but, as with everything, it got old and started to fall apart. I now use black contact (yes I've got a black bike).

I've got that on Blue, and the new Mustang. (it's nice to have a client that details vehicles, and likes to barter.

It gets scratched like the paint does too,.. but it's removable. (like "tear offs") It's also waxable, and polishable, so some of the scratches might "come out". The really nice thing is, that the gouges in the paint don't happen, because the plastic takes it.

It comes in a roll,.. but it's pretty detailed to apply. I got to watch with both vehicles, I'd let a pro do it, especially on a tank. The guy that was doing my bike, had tons of choice words. Of course the Hornet tank isn't exactly "round".
