Title: petrol tank (lost in Japan #3)

hi, 2 questions..

   What does PRI stand for, if I have  on, off and reserve, what does PRI Do??
   I took my tank off today, in my Japanese manual (roughly translated into english) it said to lay the tank upside down on a bench... When I did this, petrol came pouring out from the fuel cap area, is this normal?? or is my fuel seal damaged??
   I:m trying to find the reason for my 250 bandits poor running condition when hot, would this have anything to do with it ?? Is air meant to get into the tank from the top fuel seal ?? I thought they were meant to be completely sealed....

PRI = Prime (Meaning the fuel will flow freely from the petcock.)

ON = On (But only vacuum supplied flow)

RES = Reserve

Yeah prime is just, getting that last bit of petrol outta the whore to start her up on a crappy day.

Don't leave it on prime when not riding, or the gas can run down in the bottom end and contaminate the oil. I only use it after having the carbs drained to fill up the bowls.
