BETOR rear shock

In an attempt to sort out some handling issues,i have purchased an almost new BETOR rear shock, it has gas compression damping, its set to 52psi, would any one know if this is a factory setting, or for that mater any recommended settings for a slim 18 stone solo rider (1200 bandit).
I can't seem to find any info on this shock other than its a poor mans Hagon and looks similar.

hi Solman, 18 stone is approximatley 115 Kilograms or 252 pounds (14lbs to a stone)

Sorry Salty...

The last BETOR shocks I dealt with, were on a 1977 Bultaco Pursang. My own 74 Bultaco had Betor forks (I sold it years ago...my NEW dirt bike is a 87 Honda CR250R).

just an update that may be of use to others, as these shocks seem pretty popular in the uk,( and their cheep-ish!).
I finally got it how i find it works best for me, so Firstly set the sag to find the correct spring preload,compression damping is at 52psi (came set at this, tried less, and more, went back to this).the rebound damping is set one full turn in from full soft,this is clockwise as there are no markings on these things .
this all adds up to a very firm but not uncomfortable ride that suits my slim(i wish!) 18 stone frame. It has also transformed the handling of my Mark 1 ,1200.

18 stone is what my brothers each weigh.. and no way could they be called 'slim'  :stickpoke:

Of course, I only say this because I weigh about 10 stone, and my brothers are 2 and 3 inches taller than me, respectively.

Although I might gain some weight with tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner :lol:
