I forgot #9 for . . . oh, about 8,000 miles or so. #15/16 is definitely shot. I noticed that this morning.
The funny thing is (not!!), I thought this part belonged in the weedeater.
I'm going to pull the rear wheel tonight and see what else is FUBAR. Anyone have any input on other possibly ruined parts while I'm in there?
Now, repeat after me:
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."
"Landry is sofa king. We todd did."

I screwed up and quoted myself trying to edit.
EXACTLY the type of thing you'd expect from a guy that'll leave half the shit off his rear wheel, huh?

When I took my wheel in to get my tire replaced those parts fell out between my shed and my car. found the one in the car's trunk then looked at the diagrams to confirm I had not lost any other parts. If I had not found the one in my cars trunk I would have probably done the same thing you did. :duh:
Sorry about your misfortune.

Look over the axle and other bearings.
At least you didn't toss #9 away thinking it was some useless piece...

Honestly, Paul . . . I almost did. I thought it went in the weedeater head to guide the shaft. Luckily, I kept it. Even more luckily, I pulled the starter cord out of the weedeater and had to disassemble it, which set me to thinking about that part. Somewhere . . . in the back of my mind . . . I had an image of that thing sliding into the back of the sprocket hub.
I re-installed the part last night and took it out for a "WFO" test, with no problems.
The seal is slightly wallered out, which tells me that the inner race is probably wallered as well. The bearing spun like a top, so maybe it'll last. I bet I shaved 20K miles of usable service life off of it, though.
I'll replace the seal when I change out the tire in a couple thousand miles.
Thanks folks!
