Title: Sump plug
Post by: victor55 on July 21, 2005, 06:19:55 AM
Now I know you have probably been asked this question 1,000,000 times but I would like to know what size socket (metrically speaking) that I need for my K1 B12 sump plug.

Red, Pete, Ray or anyone feel free to advise me.

BTW how the hell are you all. I have been a bit quiet lately - must be the winter blues, but now that the solstice is well and gone, spring is just around the corner (down this way)

Heck, I don't remember... I just reach for the socket that fits.
I don't think mine is in the 20's though... I have a limited selction of metric sockets over 19mm. I wanna say 18, but don't hold me to it.

Its a 21mm.  I bought my 21mm socket 20+ yrs ago when I had a FIAT X 1/9 (if anyone remembers those).  I used it a lot on that car (FIAT stood for Fix It Again Tony!)

They probably would have been better cars if they would have given you the other 8/9ths of it.

That's pretty good, I'd never heard that one.  It only had a 1200cc motor with a little weber carb so it was missing 8/9ths of any horsepower.  Mid engine, it cornered like it was on rails.

I looked hi & lo and cannot find the torque specs (ft lbs)  for the oil drain plug...can anyone help me out here?
On a side note I installed the Holeshot engine guards, pretty low profile I hope they are as strong is they claim to be.

Just snug it down... too tight and you risk stripping it.
