And decide to go with a factory replacement, make sure you save the backing plate and nut from the inside of the fairing! The new part does not come with it. Pretty dissapointing after paying 40 bucks for the part. A generic nut and a couple washers will work as I found out. I live in the sticks and had to go to three stores to find one metric nut. 12 cents for the part and $2.50 in gas to get it.

I just received a replacement turn signal from Dennis Kirk that is NOT the correct one. It has a two filament bulb and a different connector that won't match the connector in the headlight shell.

I took the old socket and wiring from the original and swapped it into the new turn signal housing and all is well. All that is except I fee gyped because of the price -- $42 delivered.

After I ordered the part I realized I could have used the rear signal and put short stalk on the rear for about 20 bucks. Oh well, I may do that anyway so I have a couple spare signals. You would have been better off just going to the dealer, same price anyway. Live and learn I guess.

I have stock signals for a 1st generation. I switched to smaller closer signals. On the fairing I filled in the holes and mounted them on the bottom.
