Title: Tools to Carry?

My B6 didn't come with a tool kit.  What kind do you folks carry with you? Does anybody make an aftermarket kit?

I suppose a spark plug wrench, some 8, 10, 12, 14mm wrenches, metric hex wrenches, maybe a small adjustable wrench, some zip ties, tape, screwdrivers, vice-grips or pliers, would be a good start.

That sounds like a good start... as long as the adjustable is big enough to work the axle nut for chain adjustment purposes.

I just carry a stock tool kit and an extra 10mm wrench (because the stock kit 10mm wrench is weak), a Leatherman multi-tool and a small flashlight (Maglite 2-AA cell) in case something has to be done in the dark. Check with salvage outfits - they may have a stock tool kit for cheap.

A stock tool kit would be worthwhile just for the spark plug wrench and the shock tool. They both work well. The rest of it is just good enough.

There are stock tool kits on ebay sometimes. For the most part,chain mantinence tools and maybe a plug wrench. A set of allens come in handy too.

TIRE GAUGE, and maybe a small pump and plug kit!

  A package of quick J-B weld.

 There are generic aftermarket kits available, (Cruztools is one) but I think you'll be better off making up your own, with tools that are better quality, and a little easier to use.
  I'd try to get a wrench that fits every fastener you have access to, (Exterior of bike)plus enough stuff to do all common maintenance.
  (adjust chain, remove wheels, etc)

What the others said...

Don't forget a 13 & 17 mm wrench and figure out what you need to carry to allow you to do a chain adjustment (remember you need to loosed the brake stay).
