Title: UK MOT Disc Thickness
Post by: rikpotts on January 31, 2007, 09:42:08 AM
Does anyone know how thick the brake discs need to be to pass an MOT in the UK?

I think mine are about 4mm and they look a little thin! I dont want to go spending money on an MOT to find I need to spend a shed load of cash on some discs.... I just want it to pass! :) Like you would.

After pulling the wheel off and giving it a clean I found "min 4mm" marked on the discs.

Its new discs all round and a rear caliper. The pins simply wont come out of the caliper. I thought about cutting them out and buying new pins but sod it!

What are peoples recommendations? Should I stick with the standard Suzuki ones or are there any others for a similar price which are worth looking at?

Many Thanks

Hi

No experience of other disks, but I think a pattern rear caliper is available from dealers. Check the "Hi Level" catalogue.

All the best
