"We know Suzuki's sexy styling is hard to resist but this old Commodore (aussie GM car) has taken it way too far.
Chris Godyn, 30, from the NSW Central Coast, was riding his GSXR1000 K6 to work when he slowed for heavy traffic and was hit from behind.
His Suzuki had less than 2000km on it when it was mounted by the Commodore. Chris had done two track days on the bike, and decided on 7 Apr to take it on its maiden weekday ride.
The impact threw him over the front of the Suzuki, but miraculously he escaped with little more than bruising. Insurance will cover the bike's damage.
"I don't know what hit me, whether it was the car's bumper bar, or the pillion seat when the subframe snapped off," he says.
He reckoned the driver was more shaken up than him. Chris says he was actually quite calm after his lucky escape.
"It was more a feeling of relief that I could walk," he tells us, "I wasn't too fussed about the bike - they're easy come, easy go."
The moral of today's lesson "Beware of love-sick Commodores behind you."
